Deep Glow

Deep Glow was one of the first times I used lighting components as purely sculptural elements.

Repurposing led filament and drivers from lightbulbs, I created jellyfish-esque forms that were self illuminating. These were installed in a fully blacked out room so that seemed to be the only source of light in an endless expanse, forcing the viewers complete visual attention. They were accompanied by a subtle, low frequency drone and slow, heartbeat-like pulse to add thickness to the atmosphere.
